Nebraska Football: Fullback Ben Miles Is Officially A Cornhusker

The son of the former LSU head coach may be the next great Nebraska fullback

Hudl/Corn Nation

Mike Riley has been known as someone that folks around football can trust their kids with. Former LSU head coach Les Miles saw that, and when Ben Miles decided to come to Lincoln to play Fullback for the Nebraska Cornhuskers, there was no hesitation by the Miles family. Ben has signed his letter of intent, and will be in Lincoln ready to contribute.

Miles played HS football for Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He is the 2nd-ranked fullback in the 247Sports composite ratings for the year 2017. Miles is also the 44th-best player in the state of Louisiana.

Besides Nebraska, Miles sported offers from Boston College, Michigan State, LSU and Navy. There were not many offers, but to be fair, the fullback market is kind of limited.

Expectation: If there is someone set to start from the moment he steps onto campus, it’s Ben Miles. He possesses the ability to run, block, and catch out of the backfield and the H-Back position easily, and can be plugged into the Langsdorf offense with ease. Miles has the coach’s-son type of brains and can back it up with his ability. That alone puts him on the 2 deep the second he steps on campus, and if he can show that ability on the field before the first game, there’s no reason he shouldn’t start in Lincoln right away.
