Austin Allen, the pride of Aurora, Nebraska, is the number-one-ranked player in the state of Nebraska in the 247Sports composite rankings. He has sent his letter of intent into North Stadium, and he’ll be making the 75-mile drive to play for the Cornhuskers.

Allen is the 807th-best player in the entire 2017 recruiting cycle and the 39th-best tight end, both according to 247Sports as well.
Besides Nebraska, Allen had offers from Iowa, Iowa State and UCLA as well.
Expectation: At 6’8”, Allen is the tallest player in the ‘17 cycle for Nebraska. He and Kurt Rafdal, who both join the class at TE, will automatically make the two tallest TE’s on the roster. They will both have a chance to become something on the field almost immediately. One could argue that Allen will need to add some weight, but the fact that he has been to campus numerous times has to sit well with Tavita Thompson and Danny Langsdorf.
