The Nebraska Cornhuskers and John Parrella have done alright this cycle, and the recruitment of Deontre Thomas proves that. Thomas has sent his Letter of Intent to North Stadium and is officially a Nebraska Cornhusker.
All gas, no brakes.

Thomas, who hails from Mustang High School in Mustang, Oklahoma, is the 435th best player in the 2017 recruiting cycle according to the 247Sports composite. Thomas is also the 33rd best Defensive Tackle in the ‘17 cycle, and the 6th best player this year in the state of Oklahoma.
Besides Nebraska, Thomas sported offers from Arizona State, Arkansas and Michigan in his FBS offer list.
Expectation: Thomas was probably better set for Mark Banker’s 4-3, but he could thrive in the 3-4 Bob Diaco setup in the 0-1 technique for Nose Guard. He does not have the weight that Deiontae Watts has already, so he may have to add good weight to get on the field. It’s possible that Thomas plays in his Freshman year, but a redshirt is just as likely, if not more probable.
