Roberts is the 168th-best player in the 2017 recruiting cycle, the 6th-best inside linebacker, and the best player in the state of Delaware, all according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
There are spots to be had at linebacker at Nebraska with the loss of Josh Banderas and Michael Rose-Ivey, and the iffy season of Dedrick Young.

Expectation: With the way that Bob Diaco wants more LB’s in the 3-4, and the upper hand that Avery will have getting spring ball in Lincoln, there’s no doubt that Avery can contribute early in Lincoln. Roberts was a stud in HS and Nebraska kept him from Penn State, and the sooner he sees the field, the better the Nebraska defense will be.
