Frosted Flakes: Volleyball & Women’s Basketball Took the Weekend in the Cornhusker State

There was a lot to cheer for this past weekend

It was a weekend that gave Husker nation a brief moment of heartache and then a turn to full jubilation shortly after.

First, the Husker men lost a game against #14 Kansas that went down to the very end. The Huskers played well for the most part but a three with 23 seconds left in the game by KU’s Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk gave the Jayhawks a 73-72 win. A heart breaker of a loss to an old conference foe but Husker nation would not be sad for very long.

The big win of the night was the Husker volleyball teams win over Florida for the National Championship in Kansas City. A huge win for a squad that had fought and matured a lot over the course of the season.

Finally, the Husker women’s basketball team destroyed San Diego State University 81-55. They are currently 8-3 and already light years ahead of where they were from last seaosn.
