In the update to my recruiting weekend preview, it was mentioned that things would move fast, and they have. Defensive back Deontai Williams has committed to the Huskers!
I’m thankful for all the opportunity God place in front of me but as of right now I will love to say Im committed to the University of the Nebraska Cornhuskers ❄️ #Bringbackthewinningtradition #GBR #Sniper @callaghan02 @CoachTFisher @coach_frost pic.twitter.com/6DEsjyEVq7

The 6-1 180lb JUCO defensive back adds speed to the backfield with a reported 4.4 40. A physical, hard-hitting defensive back, he adds some physicality to a backfield that due to various reasons appeared soft last season. DB coach Fisher may want to teach him to wrap up more, though.
Williams was a 4 star recruit out of high school, and Georgia then Florida commit, but failed to academically qualify so he attended junior college. He was offered by UCF when Frost was coach, but signed with Florida over the Knights and Ole Miss. His interest in the Huskers changed rapidly once McElwain was fired and the Frost staff transitioned to Nebraska. An instant impact player, he has three years to play three. This moves Nebraska to 44th nationally and up one spot to 12th in the B1G. Welcome to the Husker family Deontai!
