Nebraska Football: JUCO WR Jaron Woodyard Commits

THIS IS NOT A DRILL. IT’S A JUCO COMMIT!

I knew as soon as I hit send on that last piece that some kid would come out and commit.

AND THEY DID. And this one at a position of dire need!

Here is commit #2 of the SCOTT FROST era, bringing Nebraska up to NINE commits. (ICE-9 JOKES WHILE THEY LAST!)

Welcome Jaron Woodyard of Arizona Western CC (formerly of Bethesda, MD), the first JUCO commit to Nebraska in a couple seasons. And the first WR commit of the Frost era! Woodyard carries a 3* rating and is the #2 ranked JUCO wide receiver. I believe Woodyard is a 3 to play 3 3 to play 2 player and should be eligible to play immediately. Woodyard was expected to visit Maryland next weekend it seems but I guess that’ll be cancelled.

At Arizona Western CC, Woodyard brought in 5 TDs on 11 receptions and 261 yards. He seems to be somewhat smaller, listed at 5’ 11” and 180 pounds, but I assume there’s a roll for him in Frost’s offense that seems built around players without the size but with talent.

Here’s Woodyard’s HUDL film from HS:

With Woodyard’s commitment, Nebraska moves ups 9 rankings nationally to #72, but remains dead last in the Big Ten.

A big get at a position of need. This recruiting weekend seems to be paying off, no?
