Nebraska and Northwestern are in typical duel mode, with Northwestern leading by three at half, 17-14.

Nebraska quarterback Tanner Lee has thrown two interceptions already this game only throwing one in the entire month of October. Let’s hope that’s not a bad omen for the second half.

The Husker running game is doing better... at least better than last week, as they have 80 YARDS RUSHING AT HALF! Northwestern has 280 total yards offense to Nebraska’s 178, and the game has been notable because of big plays by both teams.

Clayton Thorson has 153 yards passing going 11-for-17. Lee has 98 yards on 8-for-16 passing. JD Spielman leads Nebraska in rushing with one carry for 40 yards, while Justin Jackson has 16 rushes for 86 yards.

Here are halftime notes from the Athletic Department:

  • Senior safety Joshua Kalu recorded his seventh career interception and his second of the 2017 season.
  • Junior I-back Devine Ozigbo rushed for 36 yards in the first half to surpass 1,000 career rushing yards. He is the 65th Husker with 1,000 career rushing yards.
  • Redshirt freshman safety Marquel Dismuke made his first career start in today’s game.
  • Junior receiver Stanley Morgan Jr. caught three passes in the first half to give him 100 career receptions and become the 10th Husker with 100 career receptions. Morgan now has a reception in 23 straight games, tying for the fifth-longest streak in school history.
  • The 40-yard run in the second quarter by JD Spielman was the longest rush by a Husker this season. It was a career long run for Spielman and doubled his previous season rushing total before today’s game (7 carries, 20 yards).
  • Jack Stoll caught a 32-yard touchdown in the second quarter, the first of his career. It was his second career catch.
  • The interception in the first quarter by Tanner Lee ended a streak of 122 consecutive passes without an interception.
  • Lee threw for two first-half touchdowns and has at least two passing touchdowns in seven of nine games this season.
