Nebraska returns to Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon when the Huskers take on Northwestern in a Big Ten West Division matchup. The Huskers and Wildcats are tied for second place in the Big Ten West Division with 3-2 conference records. Both teams are coming into Saturday's game after thrilling victories last weekend.
The Huskers improved to 4-4 overall with a 25-24 come-from-behind win at Purdue. Nebraska tied its largest fourth-quarter comeback in school history, rallying from a 12-point deficit to win on a touchdown with 14 seconds remaining.
Northwestern will come to Lincoln with a three-game win streak following a 39-31 triple-overtime win over No. 16 Michigan State on Saturday in Evanston. It marked the second straight overtime victory for Northwestern, following a 17-10 win over Iowa a week earlier.
Nebraska and Northwestern have a history of close games in Lincoln since the Huskers joined the Big Ten. Northwestern won in Lincoln in 2015, 30-28, and the Wildcats have won two of three meetings at Memorial Stadium since 2011. Overall, the road team has won five of six games in the series since Nebraska joined the conference.
