Get Out To Blue Blood Brewing And See The Broken Chair Trophy!

It’s your chance to see the Rivalry Trophy between Nebraska and Minnesota!

Nikki Moore Photography

I have been to Blue Blood Brewing twice now and experienced the Robber’s Cave tour both times. Not only is it a pretty neat place to go, but they have an Imperial Russian Stout which is one of the better stout beers I’ve ever had. The last time I was there I was stupid enough to leave without getting a couple of growlers to take back to Minnesota.

Were you aware that the $5 Bits of Broken Chair Trophy had returned?

It has. And it is on display from 6 to 10 PM tonight at Blue Blood Brewing. I apologize for being a little late with this but for some reason I thought this event was going on tomorrow night because I tend to forget everything these days.

From a press release, here’s more info on what’s going on!

The Chair will officially be revealed to Husker fans between band sets at the pep-rally November 3rd, held at the Blue Blood Brewing Company, 925 Robbers Cave Rd, Lincoln, Neb. from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Chair will also be paraded around tailgates prior to the Northwestern game.

The following Thursday, November 9th, The Chair will be revealed to Minnesota fans at Stub and Herb’s, 227 Oak St SE, Minneapolis, Min. from 6 to 9 p.m.

On gameday The Chair will start at Al's Breakfast at 6 a.m. and then be paraded around tailgates for all fans to see.

Also, from an earlier release about the Fundraising associated with the Trophy:

The next phase of fundraising pits Nebraska and Minnesota football fans against each other in friendly competition to see which University community can raise the most funds for the Team Jack Foundation and the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital. While the fanbase from the winner of the game will retain the trophy, the community that is the most successful in the fundraising campaign will receive special distinction as Fundraising Champion by way of an engraving on the trophy.

Through several events leading up to the November 11th football game between the Huskers and Gophers, fans of each team are invited to donate in the name of their school. Donations made in the name of each University will be tallied, with the winner announced on November 13th. See below for more details on how fans can participate over the coming weeks! At the end of the fundraiser all donations will be split evenly between the Team Jack Foundation and the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital.
