Earlier this week I got an E-mail from Jon Johnston, our fearless (i assume) leader here at Corn Nation. He said it was fine if I didn’t want to write another 5 reasons article, but I should write something. That’s when I realized I was being a real mopey shit. The easy thing to do is to wallow in the misery. The HARD thing to do is to look through the clouds for a ray of sunshine. And that is why I’m also going to add......
5 REASONS TO NOT LOSE FAITH IN THE HUSKERS!
But first, I have to do the other 5 reasons. I’ll keep it quick, like ripping off a band-aid.
5 reasons we lose.
- Offense- First QB starting a night game in Happy Valley? Not good.
- Defense- At least Diaco’s press conferences are “interesting”.
- Coaching- See above.
- Injuries- Starting QB and RB out. Gifford out, even the holder has been hurt.
- Lucky bounces.- We haven’t been getting them.
NOW for the important part.
5 REASONS TO NOT LOSE FAITH IN THE HUSKERS!
- It’s clear the University knows there is a problem- Better to do something than nothing.
- The football program is far less toxic then three years ago.- I highly doubt we’ll be hearing a profanity laced secret tape of Riley ripping the fans. Diaco on the other hand....
- We’ve somehow kept the sellout streak going the last 15 years- No other fan base would do this. Not sure if this is a good or bad sign honestly.
- At least we aren’t Iowa- Right?
- The hottest candidate for ANY college job next season is a Nebraska Alum. - And hey, if we don’t get Frost, Carl Pellini is available.
