Flakes: Huskers WBB Recap, Live Mascots, and Scrabble Punishment

Don’t cheat at Scrabble, okay?

Brent Fields

Good morning Corn Nation! The Huskers women’s basketball team racked up a nice win against the UMKC ‘Roos last night by a score of 80-60.

They played some really good team basketball with every single Husker available (10 of them) making it in to the “points” and “rebounds” stat columns. After holding a 3-point lead at halftime, the Huskers exploded for 10 straight point in the third quarter. Moving Maddie Simon to forward is looking like a genius move by Amy Williams as the 6’2” junior is playing really well.

Three Huskers made it into double-digits in the scoring column as freshman Taylor Kissinger scored 18 points, junior Maddie Simon scored 11, and sophomore Grace Mitchell tallied a career-high 10 points. Freshman Kate Cain drew her first start and contributed eight points, two rebounds, and two blocks.

The Husker women take on the Arkansas Razorbacks on Thursday, November 16 at 8 pm CST. The game will be televised on BTN/BTN2Go with free audio on
