Week 9 Cobs: Florida, Ohio State And NC State

Nomination #1 - Jim McElwain and Nomination #2 - Florida - The Jim McElwain saga at Florida flamed out spectacularly this weekend with a bruising 42-7 loss to Georgia following a week of speculation about his future following his story about his family receiving death threats. Whether or not his story was true, the Florida administration used it as a pretext to fire him, or as some outlets have reported, “ (McElwain and the Gators) mutually agreed to part ways”. I don’t know whether the stories were true. But Florida never believed it and immediately moved to use it as cause to fire him.

While you cogitate on who’s in the right here, I’ll leave you with McElwain’s doppelgänger humping a shark.

Nomination #3 - THE Ohio State University - OSU debuted it’s alternate uniforms for Saturday, and they were grey on grey.

This nomination would have been a lot more fun had the Buckeyes not gotten their shit together in the 4th quarter versus Penn State. Still...those uniforms. What the hell were they thinking?

Nomination #4 - North Carolina State. NC State tried to catch Notre Dame off-sides with an early snap. It didn’t work.

The early snap caught the offensive line by surprise and all five linemen stayed frozen as Notre Dame blitzed. The result was a ND pick-six.
