Flakes: Winter Sports, Thanks Clemson, and Pain

New, comments

We take a look at some Husker winter sports, especially wrestling. We also have a preseason All-American...IN BASEBALL. We also wonder about pain. What was the worst you ever experienced?

Alright Husker fans. We owe Clemson a collective thank you for putting an end to this "Is 2016 Bama as good as the 1995 Huskers nonsense". As an aside, wasn't that an amazing national championship game? In 2009, Clemson went down to Bo Pelini's Cornhuskers. Both teams have gone in slightly different directions since then, haven't they? Here's to seeing some recruits that can shore up both lines and help move Nebraska back in that direction.

Last night, the women's basketball team picked up their first win in a month. They defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 62-58. Rutgers is a really well-coached team that is generally known for being a lockdown defensive team. Jessica Shepard posted a double double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Hannah Whitish is making the most of her opportunity in the starting lineup and contributed 11 points.

This team has a lot of growing to do, but they have some nice pieces with which to build.

Then There's This

What is the worst pain you've every experienced? I suppose I could say childbirth, but I honestly can't say it was that bad. I've never broken a bone. I don't have migraine headaches. I did once have a sinus infection that was so bad and had none of the normal symptoms, so the doctors were testing me for meningitis. Those headaches were pretty painful. I did dislocate a hip when I was 12 years old. I don't remember the pain as much as I remember being scared because I couldn't get up and walk.
