Flakes: Gratitude, Soccer Honors, Wyoming Preview, Pandas

This morning Corn Flakes notices B1G honors for Husker soccer and looks at an article by Danny Woodhead. We also rundown an article for each team on the Husker schedule and look around the world of sports. There are also pandas.

Good morning Corn Nation!

Well, the opening weekend (or week?) of college football did not disappoint did it? Upsets, big wins by perennial powerhouses, grumbling about officials, and one very touching tribute.

I also really enjoyed the "letter to my younger self" article by Danny Woodhead. As a Nebraska kid who took a winding road to get where he is, it was fun to read about what he was thinking. It was especially refreshing to see the amount of gratitude he expressed, even for difficulties and setbacks.

That is something I have been trying harder (although not hard enough) to do in my own life. Stop and be grateful for what I have and what I am seeing at that moment.

If you could go back and give your younger self a piece of advice, what would it be?

Letter to My Younger Self | The Players' Tribune
Dear 18-year-old Danny, I know it still stings. But if there’s one thing I know about you it’s that when you get knocked down, you don’t stay down for long. Now, as you begin your freshman year of college football, the only thing greater than the disappointment of not getting a scholarship offer to play at Nebraska is your excitement to join your older brother, Ben, and follow in your father’s footsteps at Division II Chadron State College.
