After starting the season on the road with resounding wins over top ten foes Texas and Florida, the Huskers opened their home schedule vs. former conference rival Iowa State in dominating fashion. The Huskers routed the Cyclones in 3 games: 25-20, 25-17 and 25-12. Despite a rash of service errors, the Husker block of Amber Rolfzen and Kelly Hunter smothered the Cyclone attack. The NU front line of Mikaela Foecke, Kadie Rolfzen and Briana Holman battered ISU with 9 kills apiece.
In Saturday's matchup with Oregon State, the Huskers were similarly dominant. They spread the attack around more vs. the Beavers, seeing five players record six kills or more. NU's 25-16, 25-14, 25-12 route of OSU ensured a sweep of the weekend and continued NU's dominant start of their title defense. The Huskers head out on the road this weekend as they will take on Arkansas and New Mexico in Albuquerque in the Lobo Classic.
