Nebraska safety Nate Gerry was recognized by the Big Ten Conference this morning as their Defensive Player of the Week for his performance vs. Wyoming.

Gerry, a senior from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, had seven tackles on the day with one tackle for loss, as well as a pair of interceptions in the second half.

This is the first time Gerry has been picked as conference Defensive Player of the Week in his Husker career. This was also his first game of the season, as he missed the season opener vs. Fresno State for a team based suspension.
