Last night your #1 University of Nebraska volleyballers took on the 10th-ranked Florida Gators in Eugene, Oregon. They lost the first set to the gators, but came back to win the next three sets straight in national champion-type fashion to win the match 3-1.
Tonight Nebraska takes on former nemesis Texas in a match that will be streamed for free on the Pac 12 network. The match begins at 6 PM central.
Nebraska starts the 2016 season ranked #1. Texas starts ranked #2 (followed by Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Kansas to round out the top five).
Nebraska and Texas last met in last year’s National Championship game, where the Huskers DESTROYED the Longhorns, sweeping them 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-21) in Omaha to win Nebraska’s first national title since 2006.
Texas won their first match as they went 3-1 over Oregon.
Join us at Corn Nation as we watch the re-match!!!!!
ESPN will be televising a FCS football game at 6:30 pm, #6 Charleston Southern vs #1 North Dakota State.
For last night’s Cal versus Hawaii game, ESPN didn’t even bother to send a studio crew to Australia to broadcast the game live. Instead, they had two guys do the game from their studio in Bristol Connecticut. It made for a very boring atmosphere. They didn’t even bother having someone on the sideline walk around and ask some Aussie fans what they thought of American football.
One must wonder if ESPN plans to do the same tonight, if only because no one wants to go to Fargo. One would hope that the atmosphere for game between two highly ranked teams is better than what we saw last night.
