The Nebraska Basketball team announced today their Big Ten schedule this afternoon. The Huskers will be tested early by opening their conference slate in Bloomington, Indiana on December 28th. The Hoosiers are coming off a Sweet 16 season and will likely be considered an early favorite for the conference title. NU will then head to the east coast to take on Maryland on New Year’s Day.

The Huskers will open their home slate on Jan. 5 vs. Iowa, followed by Northwestern. The rest of the early conference slate will be particularly challenging as they head to Michigan, host Michigan State and Ohio State.

The first thing you notice outside the two really tough road games is that Nebraska will not have any home games on Saturday’s at all in Big Ten play. Every weekend home game on the B1G slate is on a Sunday, and Nebraska plays only twice (or three times, depending on the scheduling of the Ohio St away game) on a Saturday after the December 10th game at Kansas.

Start times and TV will be determined for all Big Ten games at a later time.

A reminder that the season ending Big Ten Tournament will be at the Verizon Center in Washington DC this season. The first game for Nebrasketball will be against Sacramento State on Sunday, November 13th.
