Flakes: Too Many Tomatoes, Lego Hail Mary, Mermaids

A conference foe loses an experienced lineman, Google hates pop-up ads too, and Husker soccer knocks off a ranked BYU squad. They didn't even need a Hail Mary to do it.

Hopefully none of you were hit with the nasty storms in the southeast part of the state last night. It was quite a show up here in the northeast with lightning almost non-stop. A few recent rains have eased the dry conditions, making the farm community much happier.

It is also the time of year where I swear, every year, that I don't need to plant so many tomatoes. I used to plant around 40 of them but our soil was so poor that the yields were still pretty manageable. Thanks to "Operation Cow Manure" that has changed. Twenty-five plants feels like 60, especially when I have to hack my way through the tomato jungle, braving garden spiders, a hidden critter or two, and the occasional garter snake.

The machete needs sharpening.

And I need to buy more jars. Good thing the hubby and sons like spaghetti and chili.

This and That....

I know at least one site that I would like to read but gave up because of the annoying "sign up for our free calendar" or "free newsletter" pop-ups that appear ON EVERY PAGE. I quit reading that site about a year ago, but if they heed the almighty Google bots, maybe I will go back. The content was excellent, but the ads were just too much.
