The Nebraska Cornhuskers will give it up for a double workout today in Lincoln. After the first workout this morning, Head Coach Mike Riley spoke to the media.
First and foremost, if you’re wondering about if there’s been a decision about Keith Williams... nope.
Riley says they are still gathering details and there is nothing further to add today on the Keith Williams situation #Huskers

You will know when we know what's going to happen - Mike Riley on Keith Williams

Fair statement to make off the bat, if Riley still doesn’t know then there’s no reason to go into the issue that some are getting tired of hearing about.
For those wondering, Williams was not with the Huskers during practice today. Graduate Assistant Hardy Buck is still leading the group as Williams is absent.
Good news on an injury that happened Saturday during the Huskers scrimmage:
Riley: Greg Simmons ok. Just a stiff neck. Full pads tonight. #Huskers

As far as kickoff returns go, there’s a myriad of folks that are still fighting for the spot.
Riley: Newby, Wilbon, Tre Bryant, JD Spielman, among others competing for kick returns. #Huskers

Interesting that two true Freshmen are in that mix, but they both have talent to make it work. Stanley Morgan was put there last year, and it seemed to work out well.
Patrick [O'Brien] is in limbo a little bit. He's redshirtable - Mike Riley when talking about the third QB spot

Redshirting O’Brien isn’t the worst idea you can have, if Nebraska isn’t going to think about putting him in a game, there’s no reason to burn it. Granted, we’re also talking of a fully healthy QB situation right now.
If AJ Bush does stay in camp and is a member of the team through the year, that is three QB’s you can put in front of POB and just let him figure out the Offense with Tanner Lee. It does make a hell of a QB battle come the Spring and Fall next year though.
It was a walk-through morning practice before contact this afternoon. Guys seemed to be walking at a high level. #Huskers

Big time walking through here, man.
Jordan Westerkamp was out today again with a leg injury. Says he's been doing a little more each day and treating it like crazy. #Huskers

With the way that the WR crew seemed to step up last year during camp and injuries, this isn’t a bad thing. Jordan is established enough to not be hurt too much.
