Husker Volleyball Preseason Number 1

The AVCA (American Volleyball Coaches Association) released their preseason rankings today, and it shouldn’t be a surprise to see the Huskers at #1 on that list.

Last season, Nebraska went 32-4 and won the national championship, sweeping Texas in Omaha in front of a record crowd.

While the Huskers didn’t win the Big Ten last season, they’re favorites to win it this year, returning key players in setter Kelly Hunter, uutside hitter Mikaela Foecke, libero Justine Wong-Orantes, middle blocker Amber Rolfzen, right side hitter Kadie Rolfzen, and defensive specialist Annika Albrecht.

Questions remain as far as who will replace graduated outside hitter Kelsey Fien and middle blockers Cecilia Hall and Meghan Haggerty. It’s likely that we’ll see LSU transfer Briana Holman at middle, as she had to sit out the NCAA-Mandated transfer season, but outside is still a big question mark.
