After scoring two runs in the first inning yesterday, the Nebraska bats went silent. Today the Huskers have a chance to get the foul taste of losing out of their mouth as they go for the series victory at Drayton McLane Stadium against Michigan State.
Nebraska will send Jake Meyers to the mound in his sixth start of the season. Meyers was brilliant last weekend at Rutgers, not allowing a hit until the sixth inning. If Meyers can keep the Spartans off balance, he will at least give Nebraska a chance to scratch a couple of runs across.Michigan State has not named a starter for today's contest.
Nebraska will need to be better offensively than it has been the past two days. Nebraska has scored only four earned runs in the series, and can not keep counting on Michigan State errors. Nebraska had an opportunity yesterday to score more runs but a combination of bad luck and poor execution continues to cost the Huskers.
