Nebraska Baseball Vs. Creighton: Battle of Omaha Gamethread

The Huskers look for a major resume boost against the Jays

Nebraska heads to Omaha for the second time this season for their last midweek contest against the Creighton Bluejays. The Huskers will send lefty Max Knutson to face the Jays while the Jays have yet to name a starter after their contest earlier this afternoon against Nebraska Omaha.

Nebraska starts the week squarely on the bubble for an at large spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Huskers have been playing good baseball lately, winning seven of their last night contests coming into tonight's game. A win tonight, and the Huskers would feel a lot safer heading into the weekend when they return home to face the Indiana Hoosiers.

As mentioned, Creighton has already played one contest this afternoon, a 2-1 dogfight win against UNO. Creighton only used four pitchers (six less than the average Creighton/Nebraska contest) to win. Ethan DeCaster, Sam Norman, and Jeff Albrecht are all pitchers seen by Nebraska this season who will be unavailable tonight.

Expect either Connor Miller or Austin Stroschein to get the start for the Jays. Nebraska has seen both this season, with Stroschein being effective in the Jays win at T.D. Ameritrade earlier the season. Creighton will still have many of their bullpen weapons available including closer David Gerber for tonight's contest.
