After a Friday disappointment and a Saturday surprise, Nebraska gets the opportunity for a big series victory Sunday afternoon. Jake Meyers gets the nod on the mound for the Huskers while the Nittany Lions will send Justin Hagenman to the hill.
Yesterday, the Huskers received outstanding pitching from Matt Waldron who would give up four hits all day against the Lions. Waldron received 16 ground ball outs and had six strikeouts. Look for Meyers to continue that trend today as the Huskers look to continue building a resume for an at large bid into the NCAA Tournament.
As far as the offense, the Huskers did a good job yesterday at putting together hits and scoring runs. Nebraska scored in the first inning, and controlled the game from there. If the Huskers could do that again today, Nebraska should win again with a fresh bullpen.
