Nebraska will try and clinch weekend series this afternoon in both softball and baseball. The unranked softball team stunned the #1 Michigan Wolverines last night while baseball took care of Northwestern. Today is the worlds largest tailgate as there are free hot dogs, soft drinks and a Ferris wheel.

Nebraska defeated Michigan last night due to a timely double play. In the seventh leading 1-0, with two runners on and one out, Sierra Lawrence hit a high fly ball to Gina Metzler who threw to MJ Knighten at third to tag pinch runner Olivia Richvalsky to end the game.

Nate Rohr of The Husker Sports Network had this final call of the game, while you can view the video below.

Across the road, the Nebraska Baseball team dispatched of Northwestern 3-2 to end their Friday night struggles. Nebraska used a run in the first, second, and fourth to win a tight contest. Ryan Boldt had two doubles to lead the Huskers offensively while Garrett King went six innings to get the victory.

Today the Huskers will send Jake McSteen to the hill while Northwestern will counter with Dan Kubiuk. Kubiuk has allowed four home runs this season, and struggled last time out against Michigan, giving up 11 hits in just 4.1 innings of work.
