After not showing much energy last night, Nebraska looks to bounce back as they head to Werner Park to take on the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks. Nebraska will send Zack Engelken to the hill while the Mavericks send Shane Meltz to counter.
Nebraska defeated the Mavericks twice last season, including a 3-2 10 inning victory in Omaha. Nebraska will have to contain Mavericks hitter Clayton Taylor who has 44 runs batted in this season. Cole Gruber leads the Mavericks with 44 hits and a .404 average.
Meltz limited the Huskers to one run in five innings last year. The senior has been lights out recently as he has not allowed a run in his last five appearances, totaling 8.0 innings of scoreless baseball. Meltz did struggle in his one start of the year against Eastern Michigan.
