Nebraska's 2016 spring game has landed it's first 2017 commitment in offensive tackle Brenden Jaimes, a 6'5" 250 lb. offensive tackle from Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas. Ranked nationally as the #60 prospect at offensive tackle by 247 Sports, Jaimes had offers from California, Colorado, Houston, Illinois, Iowa State, Louisiana Tech, North Texas, SMU, Texas State, Texas Tech, Texas-San Antonio and Tulsa. Oklahoma and his home-town Texas Longhorns had also shown some interest as well.
Rivals ranks him as the #53 prospect at offensive tackle, while Scout ranks him 50th nationally and seventh in the state of Texas. Scout suggests he has a high ceiling and was likely to get more interest. Jaimes is the sixth commitment to the Huskers for the 2017 class. Will there be more? Well, there should be. Keep it with CN as they happen.
