Nebraska head coach Mike Riley confirmed the status of two of the Huskers' experienced defensive linemen and the news wasn't good if you like experienced defensive linemen.
Greg McMullen is done with football; Riley stated that he (McMullen) has a plan for his life and it does not include playing football for Nebraska anymore. McMullen has his degree and will be working with youth in his future.
Kevin Williams will transfer as a graduate and play football "somewhere".
This puts Nebraska down four defensive linemen since last season. Maliek Collins and Vincent Valentine had already declared for the 2016 NFL Draft. This puts new defensive line coach John Parrella on the spot in having to come up with a decent defensive line made up of underclassmen.
And... because losing those two aren't enough, Riley also announced at the postgame presser that Paul Thurston will most likely be transferring. Thurston was a projected starter at center. The good news is that redshirt freshman Michael Decker looked pretty decent at center during today's Red White Spring game.
