After losing two straight games, Nebraska will head to Ann Arbor to face the Michigan Wolverines in a key conference match-up. Nebraska sends Garrett King to the mound to face Brett Adcock.
The Huskers have seen Adcock before, as they shelled him for five runs in just 1.2 innings of work. Adcock has continued to struggle with his control, as he has 34 walks in 36.2 innings. Adcock does have 50 strikeouts, and has allowed only 15 hits all year, good for a .124 batting average against.
While Nebraska has had success against Adcock, the Wolverines have never seen King. Nebraska pitchers last season combined to limit the Wolverines to seven runs in three games last season. If Nebraska could come close, one would like their chances.
For the pitching staff to be effective, they will need to watch almost every Wolverines hitter, as there are no easy outs. Four Michigan batters hit over .300, led by Jake Bivens who hits .381. Carmen Benedetti is another bat to watch, as he has 29 walks in addition to his .324 batting average.
