Nebraska travels up the road to face the Creighton Bluejays in the second game of their three game season series. Nebraska defeated the Jays in Lincoln on March 29th, and currently have a seven game win streak over the Jays dating back to 2013.
Nebraska took two of three games against Northwestern this past weekend, but played sloppy baseball in all three contests. Sunday, Nebraska starter Matt Waldron was scratched due to shoulder tightness and the bullpen combined to give up 11 runs while the offense was anemic.
Creighton meanwhile has won four of their past six games. Daniel Woodrow is still the player to watch for Creighton, as he is the only Jay batting over .300, with a .360 average. Nicky Lopez has cooled off, and the Jays as a team are batting .256. Creighton is still fielding a ridiculous .983, an elite defense team.
Neither team has named a starter for tonight. Nebraska would have thrown Zack Engelken but due to Waldron's injury, he got the start on Sunday. Look for possibly Max Knutson or Derek Burkamper to possibly get the start.
