Nebraska Baseball: Game 1 vs. Indiana State

Nebraska starts a five game trip away from Hawks Field as they first hit the Sycamores.

After a nine-game homestand, the unranked Nebraska Baseball team heads to the state of Indiana for spring break. Nebraska starts a five-game road trip with two games against the Indiana State Sycamores. The Huskers and Sycamores played last season, with Nebraska sweeping the two game series at Hawks Field.

The sycamores have picked up early season wins over ranked opponents in North Carolina State, and Oklahoma State. Kaden Moore and Hunter Owen lead the Sycamores offensively, as they both hit over .400. Pitching wise, Indiana State has not named a starter for either of the contests. Indiana State does pitch to a tidy team ERA of 3.05 while allowing opponents to hit .234.

The Huskers will start Zack Engelken today. Engelken got the start last season against the Sycamores pitching 4.1 innings of one run ball for the Huskers, allowing only four hits and one walk. Engelken will need to work in the zone, as he has allowed eight walks this season in six innings of work.
