The baseball team has had a good weekend. They came from behind in dramatic fashion (a two run walk-off homer) to take the first game on Friday. Nebraska then shut out Loyola Marymount the next two games (7-0 and 3-0).

The starting pitching seems to be settling in after a terrible start to the year. The return of Derek Burkamper after a two-week suspension and the elevation of freshman Matt Walford to the starting rotation has provided a boost.

Not to mention, where did all these home runs come from? The Huskers have a shot to hit nearly as many home runs before the conference season even opens as they did all of last season.

The softball team finishes the Louiseville Slugger tourney today They are already in action (at the time this article publishes) versus Georgetown. The weekend started with a win over a top #10 team (James Madison) but a loss to top #25 Arizona State. On Saturday, they lost the rematch with James Madison (in run-rule fashion) but rebounded to beat the Ohio State Buckeyes.
