Nebraska Football: The Post '16 NSD Scholarship Chart

David McGee

Well, the addition of 21 players and a subtraction of both Seniors and some others (NFL Draft, transfer, etc) can put a havoc on keeping track of the Nebraska Cornhuskers scholarship chart.

But, we have an idea of who is on the team as Spring Football will be approaching here in just over a month. It's a good time to take a peek and look at who is getting their schooling paid for, depth at positions and where scholarships are being used.

A few guidelines as you read this:

- I've added players that have transferred into the program. That means Keyan Williams and Tanner Lee are included.
- I list players in where I think they will be playing, OL can be a crapshoot, so realize the number at the line, not at the specific position.
- I don't count on when they were recruited, rather what class they will be approaching. So, realize that Freshmen may look large at first because of the new class. Also, for those that are coming in, I'm using what they were listed as when Nebraska advertised them. Hence, Lamar Jackson will be in at Safety.

Totals for all classes:

Freshmen: 33
Sophomores: 19
Juniors: 13
Seniors: 21

Total scholarships used currently: 86

A few takeaways from this:

- Man, that Junior class is thin as all get out. 13 Juniors means that either it's going to be a small '18 cycle, or there is going to be some fair attrition of kids not cutting it that are Freshman right now.

- 21 spots for the '17 cycle sounds about right, give or take a few kids leaving before that time. It happens, so bank on that going down.

- The biggest thing? Nebraska is at a full 85 spots after yesterday! It's been a while since that has happened.

What do you think about the Scholarship splits? Talk about it in the comments below.

EDIT: Forgot Englehaupt, that means Nebraska is 1 over! Means someone listed is leaving. But who?
