After a dominant win yesterday, the Nebraska Baseball team will look to clinch a series win this afternoon. Garett King will get the start for the Huskers. Opposing King will be Bailey Ober for the College of Charleston Cougars.
For Nebraska to win, a continuation of dominant shutdown pitching will be important. The Huskers struggled at times on offense yesterday to string together hits, and today could be no different. Ober received accolades for his freshmen season, where he was outstanding for the Cougars, helping them get to a super regional.
Ober is not an overpowering pitcher, but he is a funky tall strike throwing machine. Ober in his freshmen season walked only 19 batters in 106 innings of work. The Huskers may need to stick with aggression not only in the batters box but also on the base paths to have success.
The Huskers will also need to get both Ryan Boldt and Ben Miller going in the middle of the lineup as they went a combined 0-9 yesterday with one walk between them.
