Nebraska Baseball's Ryan Boldt Named To Golden Spikes Award Watchlist

USA Baseball, the group responsible for handing out the Golden Spikes Award, released their 50 name watch list on the eve of the beginning of the 2016 College Baseball season.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers were represented on the list by having Outfielder Ryan Boldt listed in the group fighting for the best Amateur Baseball player, High School or College, in America.

Boldt, the Junior out of Red Wing, Minnesota, was a Second-Team Big Ten Conference player last year, and listed as a Second-Team Preseason All-Amercian by both Perfect Game and Baseball America. He is listed as Third-Team Preseason All-American by D1Baseball.com.

Boldt lead the Huskers in batting average (.344), hits (75), runs (45) and stolen bases (9) last season, playing in all but 2 of Nebraska's 57 games. Boldt also played in the Cape Cod League this past summer, making the All-Star game while playing for the Bourne Braves.

The Golden Spikes award will be given on June 30th. Nebraska begins their season this weekend with a three game set vs. the College of Charleston.
