The Husker men play Wisconsin tonight, sans Shavon Shields who is still recovering from that scary fall against Rutgers. He was going up for a block and got flipped over and landed on his shoulder. When his head hit the floor, he was knocked unconscious and ended up being strapped to a gurney and taken to the hospital. Shavon had started over 100 straight games for the Huskers, a remarkable streak. Get well soon Shavon!

An update was given Monday night regarding the status of senior Shavon Shields, who suffered a fall late in Saturday's win over Rutgers -- a fall that rendered him unconscious and took the air out of Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Husker women struggled (to put it mildly) against Indiana, but that did not stop Jess Shepard from picking up her 9th Big Ten "freshman of the week" honor.
She eclipsed Deb Powell in setting a new Husker freshman scoring record with 466 points so far in her career. She is also currently 4th on the Husker all-time freshman rebound list with 208 (5th is Jordan Hooper). No other freshman in Big Ten women's basketball has ever won nine of these awards.
