The Nebraska recruiting effort for 2017 has hit a wall seemingly in the last few weeks, with the last verbal being Deiontae Watts back on September 18th. However, that’s not out of effort, as the Huskers coaching staff has gotten some good talent into Lincoln on the weekends.
Being that the Minnesota prime time start was announced back in the Spring, the Huskers have been looking to get some good talent into Lincoln this weekend. It looks like the visitors are going to be high quality this week, with some decent inroads for the staff in case some plans fall through at the end with others.
As I always say, this list is very fluid and can be added to & subtracted from at any time between now and Saturday.
Even with all the talent that Keith Williams is in on and had visited, his grind simply hasn’t stopped in this cycle. Getting Jeremiah Holloman, a top 247 prospect heading to San Antonio for the Army AA game in January proves this. This is Holloman’s third visit, after hitting up Miami & Georgia in the past couple of weeks.
Henderson is the teammate of Holloman, and will be taking in the visit even though he’s a Tennessee verbal. Nebraska targets Henderson as a Safety right now, but it probably wouldn’t be a bad fallback plan on Linebacker, given the way the Rahyme Johnson situation has come around.
Quran Hafiz is an interesting case here. The Huskers offered him back in September, and he’s gotten some decent visits in with Indiana, Minnesota and Oregon State. He was a Iowa State verbal until his first visit with Oregon State, where he de-committed on September 19th.
Can't wait to get up to Lincoln this weekend for my Official Visit to watch Nebraska play Minnesota #GBR #BlackShirts ⚫

One has to wonder if Hafiz is a backup plan, given that Brian Stewart is meeting resistance on the recruiting trail due to the youth movement of Nebraska’s current lineup. It cost him with kids like Jaylon Johnson (Utah), Deommodore Lenoir (Oregon) and others.
Noah Elliss and Nebraska aren’t new friends, as the Huskers offered him back this spring, but seemed to cool on him. If you’re looking for a guy that would be able to pair off well with Damion Daniels for big run-stuffing Defensive Tackles, this is your man. I’m not 100% sure that Elliss is visiting, but there’s been a couple reports of it out there, so we’ll throw it in for now.
A late addition to the list, but one that’s been working quickly to get to Lincoln is Muskogee Safety Kamren Curl. From the Tulsa area, Nebraska offered Curl all the way back on Monday the 7th. Even though he’s listed as a WR as well, I’m thinking he’s being offered at Corner. TCU has been hot on him, and they don’t have any Cornerbacks verbals right now.
