Nebraska Baseball’s 2017 Schedule Released

The Huskers will play 23 home games this coming season

The Nebraska baseball program released its 2017 schedule on Tuesday morning. The Huskers will play 23 games at Haymarket Park, play 21 true road games, and 11 games will be on neutral fields.

The Huskers take on UC Riverside in Tempe, Arizona, to start the season with a 4-game set from Feb 17-19. The Huskers will then hustle to Surprise Stadium in Arizona to take on both Utah and Oregon State in a 4 game series.

The final leg of the opening 11-game road trip takes place in Dr Pepper Stadium in DFW as the Huskers join Oklahoma State, Arizona and Arkansas in the inaugural Frisco Classic.

The home slate starts with a 8-game homestand starting with a 2-game set vs. Northern Colorado on Tuesday, March 7th. The Huskers will host Western Carolina that following weekend, the same team that knocked Nebraska out of the NCAA tournament last season.

Nebraska starts Big Ten play on the road in Indiana for the second straight year, as they take on the Hoosiers to open up the B1G schedule. The Huskers also will be on the road to take on Minnesota, Ohio State and Penn State this year, with the Nittany Lions trip the last set before the Big Ten Tournament.

The Nebraska conference home schedule has Maryland, Iowa, Rutgers and Michigan State visiting Lincoln for weekend sets. During B1G play, the Huskers mix in elongated mid-week sets with Omaha, Creighton and Kansas State during that time as well.

The Huskers will look to improve on their 37-22 record from last year, which ended with two 0-2 performances in both the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments.
