A struggling Husker women's basketball team will take on top 10 Maryland tomorrow (Thursday Jan 7) on the road. While there is very little chance of coming away with a win, it would be nice to see the Huskers clean up a few things, namely defensive rebounding, free throws (post players), and making a few of their layups.
Doing that will go a long way to making them competitive to be in the top half of the Big Ten, which is a place they need to be to have a reasonable chance at an NCAA tournament bid.
To completely switch gears, the lawsuits against Fan Duel and Draft Kings have been in the news a lot and are gaining momentum. I find it hard to believe that these sites really believed they could avoid being designated as "gambling" operations by hiding behind a "game of skill" curtain.
I also find it hard to believe that they did not think their non-stop, unrelenting, obnoxious advertising campaign that invaded everyone's TV screen every 30 seconds with their "get rich quick" drivel would not bring just a little bit of attention to themselves.
