- It's been no secret that the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Michigan Wolverines have been fighting for recruits since both Mike Riley and Jim Harbaugh have taken the jobs, which were at a simultaneous time.
Michigan has gotten the best of Nebraska a couple times (Reuben Jones) and vice-versa (Matt Snyder). However, it looks like Nebraska is trying to get on top of the Wolverines with two kids this weekend.
First off, it was confirmed that Nebraska will indeed host Nixa, Missouri, TE prospect Chase Allen this weekend, a weekend after it seemed that he'd commit to Michigan.
It's a big longshot to get Allen to consider Nebraska, but the fact that the staff can get Allen on campus this weekend would stand out big time.
- The Huskers were one of several teams to jump across and start following Illinois OT Erik Swenson on Wednesday. That came after the fact that Michigan, who he had committed to in 2013, reportedly pulled his offer and shunned his Official Visit this week.

Obviously, it's a tough place for a kid that has been committed for a long time to be in. Less than two weeks until National Signing Day and you're now in the race that you hoped to avoid by committing so early.
The Huskers have done their work on here, as Mike Riley was one of a few folks who followed him. If Nebraska could get Swenson on campus one of the last 2 weeks for a OV, that could go a very long way to snagging two OT's in him and Matt Farniok.
- Who was Mike Riley tweeting about on Wednesday?

That would be OLB/DE Pernell Jefferson, who will be visiting Nebraska this weekend. For some reason, things have cooled between Jefferson and Oklahoma, where he verbaled back in August. Indiana is scheduled to get a visit from Jefferson, but with Trent Bray on the case, it may not get that far before Jefferson is a Husker verbal.
- Don't forget about the commitment of Tony Butler today, who should be a Husker when he announces. We'll have coverage for you either way.
