Nebraska 90 Rutgers 56
It was a cold one out but Nebraska came into Jersey hot and never game themselves a chance to cool off.
The Huskers broke their 4 game loosing streak in Piscataway on Saturday night. Throw on the fact that it has been 11 regular season games dating to last season that Nebraska has won a conference game an you start to see the importance of this win.
The Big Red started on a 14-2 run early in the first half and never looked back. For the first time in awhile the Huskers didn't have much of a problem making baskets. The team was taking full advantage while shooting 55% in the first half and lead the Scarlet Knights 46-26.
Andrew White III was the big scorer today and ended the night with 28 points and 9 rebounds. Rutgers tried to guard him but didn't have an answer to the 6'7" guard and ended the night shooting 76% from the floor. Glynn Watson Jr. followed him with 12 points and 4 assists. Shavon Shields thew up a total of 11 points. Ed Morrow Jr. had a big game off the bench with 10 points and 3 rebounds.
Rutgers ended the game shooting only 33% from the floor. They kept throwing up shots and they could't pay them to go in. They were lead by Mike Williams who came off the bench with 22 points and 4 rebounds. Their top freshman, Corey Sanders, ended the day with 9 points and 5 rebounds.
The 34 point win was the largest conference road win since beating Kansas State in the 1992-93 season. Twitter had fun finding that stat.
Anybody with a good memory know how far I must go back in media guide for road league victory of this margin? #Nebrasketball

NU's 90 points were its most in a conference game since scoring 93 vs Colorado in 2006. Previous Big Ten high was 82 vs Minnesota on 1/26/14

The 90 points are the most by #Nebrasketball in a conference road game since 1998-99, when the #Huskers won 96-81 at No. 25 Oklahoma.

Also add that this was the largest road win since 1920 when they beat Morningside College 50-13. Yeah, go that far back guys. Someone tell me there were at that game.
Yes, it was Rutgers. They have been at the bottom of the Big Ten since they got here and some of their top players were out. But it's a win Nebraska needed and it helps that it was on the road. These can help give the guys the confidence they need to get through the tough Big Ten winter that is ahead. Tim Miles knows it and so does the team.
The Huskers come back home to play a struggling Minnesota (6-10) on Tuesday.
