Today's news and commentary

Good morning!

It's Tuesday, which means 11 days till the Nebraska Cornhuskers strap it up vs. BYU. Obviously, Matt Turman is the original man who came from third string to win a National Title, but we'll let everyone else have their narrative.

The big news of the day is Bill Connelly's SBN College Foootball 2015 Season Preview dropping right here. If you're looking for the Big Ten specific side of it, I've linked it to here just for you.

Bill wrote his Nebraska specific preview back in June, which I've brought back for you here. He has Nebraska in a fair position of Tier 3 in the Big Ten with Wisconsin, Michigan, Penn State and Minnesota.

Other Nebraska links of the day include:

The Daily Nebraskan has their best case/worst case scenario for Nebraska. It looks honestly like what everyone else says.

Steven M. Sipple: NU's 2012 walk-on group may never be topped : Latest Husker News

Of the 21 walk-ons in the Huskers' class of 2012, eight have earned scholarships by working their way into prominent roles.

I have a problem with this piece, as yes the Walk-On's are good from this group. However, it hides the fact that out of the 17 kids that Nebraska signed, it's been a very hit or miss group with a lot of misses.

Hits: Tommy Armstrong, Jordan Westerkamp, Greg McMullen, Imani Cross, Vincent Valentine
Contributors: Sam Cotton, Alonzo Moore, Mohammed Seisay, Zaire Anderson
Milk Carton: Michael Rose-Ivey, Paul Thurston, Corey Whitaker
Peace out homie: Jared Afalava, Leroy Alexander, Thomas Brown, Avery Moss, Aaron Curry

I suppose it's just like any other class, but the fluff towards hitting on walk-on's just hides the fact that the class stunk.

Kentucky football: Courtney Love, Greg Hart ruled ineligible by NCAA; UK appealing - A Sea Of Blue

The two were trying for a hardship appeal, which would have let them play immediately. Do you think they miss being at Nebraska with the LB and TE spots up for grabs?

On a night to forget, rookie pass-rusher Randy Gregory stands tall | The Star Telegram

The second-round pick had his second sack in two preseason games.

The Cowboys stunk on Sunday night in San Francisco. But, through 2 games, Gregory has gotten most of the love from the DFW press, and that's saying something.

Today's song of the day is one where either you like it or you're wrong.
