It is zucchini season. You know what that means? Lock your car doors and do not answer the doorbell. You might end up with some of this prolific summer veggie.
I am working on a batch of spiced zucchini rings. These are much like spiced apple rings. Only zucchini. They are much yummier than zucchini wine (don't ask). I even bought a bigger pot this year. Sigh.
Hopefully my kids' teachers find these a nice departure from candles, coffee mugs, and apple-themed decorations as Christmas gifts. December is not far away you know.
What is even closer? Husker football! We are under 40 days now! Can you feel it?

The NFL’s oldest living player — nearly 80 years removed from a brief stint with the Cincinnati Bengals — former Husker coach Bill Glassford is just about as independent as a 101-year-old man could be. Glassford stalked the Huskers’ sideline from 1949 to 1955. He ran famously tough training camps and had exciting offenses for his time. After all, the Huskers’ new coach, Mike Riley, was all of 2 years old when Glassford was last head man at NU.

Michigan Announces Plans to Retire Jerseys of Legends
The Michigan Athletic Department will take the jerseys associated with the Michigan Football Legends back off the field and will retire those numbers in a ceremony on Nov. 28 prior to the game vs. Ohio State.
Good. This was a bad idea in the first place. It was an even worse idea to trot out the "Legends" jersey during years that amounted to a dumpster fire at Michigan.
