On Monday, the Nebraska Cornhuskers Basketball program announced their finalized non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2015-16 season for both the Men and Women.
On the Men's side, games against Big East Champions Villanova in Philadelphia and at Pinnacle Bank Arena to take on Miami highlight the schedule. The annual interstate battle vs. Creighton will be on Wednesday, December 9th. The Huskers will head to Brooklyn, New York Thanksgiving weekend to participate in 2 of their 4 games in the Barclays Classic. The other 2 will be hosted by Nebraska at home before they leave for the extended weekend.
The official PBA home opener will be Mississippi Valley State on Saturday, November 14th. There is an exhibition game scheduled, but date and opponent is still to be determined.
The Women will open their season at PBA on Saturday, November 14th when they take on Arkansas Pine-Bluff. After spending their first 4 games at home, the Huskers head to Storrs, Connecticut to take on storied power UConn, who have won the last 3 NCAA Championships. Last season, UConn's road to winning the Women's Final Four came through Lincoln, as they won the regional hosted at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
The Nebraska Women also have scheduled California on Saturday, December 12th in Berkley, California. They round out their 13 game non-conference schedule with a home game vs. Arkansas State.
The Big Ten conference schedule for the Men will be announced later this summer.
