Here we have the 5th and 12th seed in the National Chain bracket going head to head.
The South 27th street location has a Yelp rating of 2.5 stars out of 5.
South Lincoln really doesn't have many sports bars worth visiting to watch a game. I like this location and their are plenty of TVs. They will change the channel if you need a particular game that's not on one of their tvs. The wings are just ok. Lots of sauces to choose from. I like the Asian Zing, Honey BBQ, and garlic parmesan. If your really adventures and love heat the hot or blazing are very hot. They have 15 different sauces to choose from. They also serve boneless wings but I prefer the traditional. My wife always gets the popcorn shrimp. Beer selection is typical, but I would like more things on tap. All in all its one of the better south lincoln sports bars but nothing special.
JIMMY JOHN'S GOURMET SANDWICHES
Three locations in Lincoln.
The downtown Lincoln location has a Yelp rating of 4 stars out of 5.
A Yelp review:
Jimmy John's is a solid sandwich place.
Not only is their food good and quickly prepared, but I just like their stores as well. They've got a lot of personality and the staff are usually pretty chill. I've been to ones in Lincoln, Austin and Chicago and the experience was just as good each time.
This one in particular I've gone to the most. Whenever I'd be out late taking photos for the UNL paper, or just wandering drunk around downtown, I'd stop by here afterward (they're open pretty late) for a meal. I recommend the # 11, the Country Club, though most of their sandwiches are tasty. They stack them high with meat and cheese and lettuce and tomato and mayo, and they're delish. They'll even add on extra meat for $1.25 if you're especially hungry. The other prices are:
$4.25 for 8" club sandwiches
$5.25 for "giant" club sandwiches
$1.50 for cookies
$1 for chips
Plus they deliver! You've probably seen the ubiquitous JJ delivery guy on a bike, whose red and black shirt says "Freaky Fast." They are freaky fast, let me tell you, they'll be at your door in minutes. They're a healthier (and sometimes cheaper) alternative to other delivery places like Papa John's (relation???).
So yeah, definitely recommend them.
