Michigan State lost to Maryland last night 2-1, so Nebraska will face Sparty in an elimination game at 1:00 PM today. The game will not be televised on BTN (see below), but on BTN Plus which requires a subscription.
I walked past the dugout yesterday after the Nebraska loss, and the look on Darin Erstad's face could have melted a car. He started the postgame pre-conference with roughly the same look, but with slightly more disappointment than anger. He then lightened up and laughed a little when he talked about his team.... although the subject wasn't that light-hearted.
Nebraska played Illinois about as tough as could be expected without coming away with a win. Plenty of hits, but not together. Then stupid mistakes at crucial times. Erstad commented that this was their seventh one-run loss, and when asked about "the little things" in those losses, he responded:
"We’re pretty good at finding little things to be an issue pretty much all year. We’ve won games where we haven’t run the bases very well. We won some one-run games early in the season and this game can be kind of evil sometimes, but the boys are locked in."
Erstad mentioned the team's confidence, and felt that they were confident going into the game. It was evident they were, at least early on, but that confidence seemed to fade when Illinois took a 3-2 lead late in the game. You could feel it down by the dugout.

Why isn't every Big Ten Tournament baseball game on TV? - Land-Grant Holy Land
Not every B1G baseball tournament game is on BTN. We called BTN and asked them why
Pretty standard answers... the same we've always gotten from BTN. Pretty silly, too, that they haven't re-negotiated the contract for baseball with the Big Ten.
I seriously doubt that attendance throughout the Big Ten gets a whole lot better even though the conference is improving. The season starts too early, and the weather is shitty for most of the

'New information’ might compel Goodell to reduce Brady's suspension | DEFLATEGAT
Roger Goodell on Wednesday confirmed there’s a possibility he’ll reduce, and perhaps even vacate, Tom Brady’s four-game Deflategate suspension.
Congratulate Goodell for keeping a complete non-issue that doesn't involve women being beat up in the spotlight. This is why he gets paid massive amounts of $$$ and why we have to continue to hear about it.
Tom Brady wants to be exonerated. A soap opera for men....

Sports reporters need to shut up and do their jobs - SBNation.com
Sports reporting is one of the most fun jobs a person can have. Despite this, the writers in these positions still find something to complain about it. It's time for them to shut up and enjoy their jobs.
SO THERE!!!!
(I find the amount of complaining by sports reporters pretty amazing myself. Twitter is very hard to handle during the football offseason. Maybe I don't follow the right people. Or maybe it's just a shithole. Thoughts?)
