Nebraska Baseball vs Illinois: Thursday Open Thread

Nebraska tries to get back into the NCAA Tournament discussion after a disappointing home series loss to Purdue

The Nebraska Baseball team heads to Illinois for the final conference series of the year. Nebraska will need to at least win this series to get back into the conversation of being in the NCAA Tournament. Nebraska has an uphill climb as the Illini have won 24 consecutive contests.

Chance Sinclair will get his final regular season start looking to clinch a berth in the BIG Tournament for the Huskers. Sinclair will be opposed by Kevin Duchene. Duchene is a future first round draft pick who has been firing on all cylinders lately. For Sinclair to be successful he will need to locate his breaking ball well and work ahead of the Illini hitters.

Last weekend the Illini swept Rutgers scoring 39 runs in three games. Nebraska fell in a series to Purdue, dropping the final two games of the series is disappointing fashion.

Nebraska clinches a spot in the BIG Tournament with either a win tonight, or a loss by both Minnesota and Penn State.
