Nebraska's softball team made the NCAA tournament after a strong showing in the Big Ten tournament, making it to the finals, but losing to Michigan 3-1 in the final.
An NCAA Tournament berth perhaps seemed unlikely just one month ago, when Nebraska’s record stood at 20-18 and the Huskers came in at No. 62 in the first NCAA RPI rankings. Nebraska climbed more than 20 spots in the RPI rankings by winning won 14 of its last 17 games, including a run to the championship game of the Big Ten Tournament, where Nebraska fell to No. 3 national seed Michigan. The Huskers will bring a 34-21 record into the NCAA Tournament after finishing in third place in the Big Ten Conference.

If only the baseball team could make such a run. If they're going to do it, now is the time... but you could have said that last week.
Baseball lost yesterday to Purdue 2-1. Purdue has one of the worst pitching staffs in the country, and Nebraska could only manage four hits. Forget where the RPI is, it really doesn't matter much anymore. This team needs wins. They can take the Purdue series with a win today, and then they'll face Illinois this coming weekend; an Illini team that swept Rutgers over the weekending (final game was 28-13) and has won 24 straight. 24!
