The long wait is over. Randy Gregory is a Dallas Cowboy.
SLATER SCOOP: Cowboys are taking Randy Gregory #NFLDraft
— Andy Slater (@AndySlater) May 2, 2015
With the 60th selection in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Defensive End is heading to be the edge rusher that Dallas has lost after losing DeMarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer to Free Agency.
The pre-draft drama surrounding Randy Gregory's positive drug test (at the NFL combine no less) had many wondering about the damage done to his draft prospects. Before the combine, he was mocked as high as the 5th pick by Mel Kiper. However, an underweight prospect entering the NFL already in the first stage of the substance abuse policy is going to make teams pause, even with exceptional athleticism and football IQ.
Gregory racked up a long list of honors including:
- 2014 Second-Team All-American (FWAA)
- 2014 Third-Team All-American (AP)
- 2014 First-Team All-Big Ten (Media, Coaches)
- 2013 First-Team All-Big Ten (Coaches, Media, BTN)
- Nebraska Defensive MVP (2013)
